Moira slipped out of an alleyway to join the bustle of the afternoon marketplace, her cowl firmly in place over her head to offer protection from both the midday sun and the attention of every person in the square.  It hadn't taken her long to locate the vendor heavy streets, a couple of quick questions got her moving in the right direction and then it was simply a matter of tailing a couple of ladies with empty baskets.

While the pub had offered her insight into a little of the town and its people, the market always seemed to be the heartbeat of a community.  If there were people looking for a job to be done, they would be here or have contacts watching the street at the least.

Moira shifted her way through the crowd, careful to keep her tail as tucked beneath her traveling cloak as she could to avoid causing a scene, at least until it would benefit her to do so.

Eyeing a booth selling carvings and jeweled trinkets, she settled in at the fur trader next to it.  A few of her fingers caressed one of the elegantly skinned rabbit pelts as she addressed the lady behind the stall, "Yer family is skilled." She offered the light praise while eyeing the next stall and watching how the man reacted as various folk touched and bartered with him over his trinkets.

It would be a simple thing, she told herself, to help the man part with some of his goods... but without knowing anyone in town, it could prove difficult to turn those goods into coin for food and lodging.  She frowned a bit beneath her cloak, not quite catching what the fur trader said to her, "Um, yes, sorry... the fur's beauty mesmerized me a moment.  Did ya say somethin'?" she inquired politely to gain a few more moments of observation.

Moira spoke a few minutes with the tanner, haggling over a price of a fine pelt before finally deciding the price was too high for her tastes. She knew she didn't want the pelt and when the pricing got close to her last offer, she took the out politely. The entire time using what moments she had to keep track of the dealings at the trinket stall.

When the deal fell through, she turned and started perusing the the myriad of totems, jewelry, carved animals clearly meant for a child's delight, and other curiosities. The man, no more than 30 or so, clearly had an artistic style or perhaps he had a relation for whom he peddled the finished wares.

While he was busy bartering, Moira slipped a trinket into her pocket deftly. She didn't really want it, but even a few coins would let her spend a night with a full stomach and a roof over her head... and she was certain she could get at least a few coins for the small bracelet inset with a small emerald.

Having secured enough, she moved further down the street, again mixing into the rest of the crowd and finally reaching the town crier's square.

It seemed from all the talk that important events occurred here earlier in the day. She watched as a trio of humans argued amongst themselves over the possible meanings of the king calling a public forum.

Moira reached into her pack and pulled out the bread she had pocketed earlier, biting into it as breakfast had long ago left her hungry again.

She watched the activities of the square and listened to the myriad of talk while slowly finishing off her meal.
